4 Week Mini Wheel Throwing (9:30am)

Service Description

Experience the art of pottery with our Mini Wheel Throwing Pottery Class at The Pottery Studio! Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, our class will teach you to center, open, and pull up the walls of clay, add texture, carve, and glaze and decorate your pieces. This four week class meets 2 hours per week for a 4-week mini session. Class Includes - 10 lbs. of clay, glazing and firing for up to 4 finished pieces up to 6in in length* and a shelf for storage of pottery! Students will learn to make small to medium size vessels from 1-3 lbs. each. Focus will be on quality vs quantity and class will include adding handles, using underglazes, carving and applying brush on studio glazes. Any pots fired beyond the initial 4 they will incur a fee that includes cost of clay per lb. and firing fees. Fees are posted in studio. A short orientation will be held on first day of class to explain studio practices and explanation of what this class will cover each week. Attending the first class is mandatory, so if you cannot attend this class please register for a different session. A demonstration will be given each week during the first half hour of class, then students will work on that skill. Skills include centering clay, cylinders, bowls, cups, and plates, then brushing on underglazes and applying studio glazes. There are no make ups for missed classes, and no refunds. Pottery will be ready 14 days after glaze firing. We are small studio so we can only hold your work for 30 days after initial contact for pick up, or the pots will be donated or discarded.
